R32 is a single-component HFC increasingly used on its own in modern air conditioning and heat pump systems thanks to its lower GWP than traditional blends, higher energy efficiency and smaller required charge. It is mildly flammable (A2L) and must be installed and serviced by technicians trained for A2L refrigerants.
